Our Services

Here at The Cherry Tree Guest House we aim to ensure that all guests enjoy our facilities and are made to feel welcome, and treated equally according to their needs. This access statement will provide guests with all the information they need about the guest house to ensure a comfortable stay.

We have 11 bedrooms in total. 1 is downstairs, 1 is on reception level, 5 are on the first floor and 4 are on the second floor. We also have a guest lounge, breakfast room and inclusive toilet, all on the ground floor.

Walking/Bus/Trains/Taxis

We are located a 2-minute walk from Eastbourne seafront and a 15-minute walk from Eastbourne Railway Station. 

There are several main bus stops down Cornfield Road, which is a 15-minute walk from us, where busses from Hastings, Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven and Brighton end (Busses: 12/12A/12X, 99, 51, 13). There is also a smaller, less frequent bus stop a 5-minute walk from our establishment that circles the local area (Bus: 3/3A).

Our local taxi service can drop you right to our door. They have services running from Eastbourne Railway Station or alternatively you can call them on 01323 720720 to book.

Parking 

We have free, unrestricted on-street parking available on Silverdale Road, where our establishment is located. There is also free parking available up several side roads close to us (South Cliff Avenue, Grange Road and Jevington Gardens). These are all less than a 10 minute walk away from us.


Main Entrance and Arrival

  • Entrance to the property is through a black gate, and then up several steps to the front door
  • There is a handrail available up these stairs
  • We do not have ramp accessibility 
  • We can help with bringing luggage up the steps and to your room
  • Reception is a short walk through the hallway 
  • There are dog towels, and a dog water bowl just past the main door
  • There is a bell at reception that guests can ring if they need any assistance


Public Areas

Guest Lounge

  • Our guest lounge is located just left of the main entrance 
  • There are 4 seats, a 2-seater sofa and 1 arm chair 
  • There is a dining table, a coffee table, a side table and a desk with tea and coffee making facilities on top
  • There is a long drinks fridge containing cold drinks for purchase
  • There is an electric fire place
  • The guest lounge is open 24 hours of the day and can be used by all guests and any dogs 
  • Breakfast can be eaten in here if the breakfast room is fully occupied


Breakfast Room

  • The breakfast room is located just past reception, and left, next to Room 1
  • This room can seat up to 14 people
  • All chairs are without arms
  • There is background music played at a low level, this can be turned off at request
  • Along the left side of the room is a fridge, and several tables/desks that are used for the continental buffet each morning 
  • A member of staff will always be available during breakfast time for any help needed


Front Garden

  • Before the main entrance of the Guest House we have a front garden where guests can sit
  • We have 2 ashtrays for those guests who smoke; we ask this is done as far away as possible from the front door so that no smoke enters the building


Toilet

  • There is a toilet located just past reception, down a couple of steps
  • This can be used by all guests 
  • There is a small sink in this toilet


Bedrooms

All rooms are en-suites, with a TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

All rooms are accessed via stairs. There are handrails.

Lower Floor:

Room 11 is located just before reception. It is past the toilet on the landing and then down a set of stairs. Guests turn right at the bottom of the stairs.

  • This room is a king room
  • There is a fridge, a unit with several drawers and storage compartments, with tea and coffee making facilities on top
  • There is also a 2 seater sofa and a TV
  • Next to the bed are 2 bedside tables as well as a bookcase style unit
  • The bathroom has a toilet, sink and a bath with a handheld shower attachment
  • There are plenty of storage spaces in this bathroom built into the wall


Ground Floor:

Room 1 is located just past reception:

  • This room is a double-room
  • There are no stairs to access this room, apart from the ones to access main entrance
  • This room has an accessible wet room bathroom
  • There is a small unit with tea and coffee making facilities
  • There is a chest of drawers and wardrobe next to this
  • The double-bed has 2 bed side tables
  • The bathroom contains a toilet and a shower and is a wet room


First Floor:

There are 5 rooms on this floor. Room 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Room 2, 3 and 4 are located up the first set of stairs, and then left. Room 5 and 6 are up the first set of stairs and then right.

All these rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, a wardrobe, a tv and bed side tables.


Room 2:

  • This room is a single-room with a double bed
  • There is a desk with a chair and mirror
  • In the bathroom is a toilet, sink and shower


Room 3:

  • This room is a king and/or twin room
  • There is a chair in this room
  • The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower


Room 4:

  • This room is a
  • There is a high table with 2 bar-stool styled chairs 
  • There is a small chest of drawers
  • This bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet


Room 5:

  • This room is a king and/or twin room
  • There are 2 arm chairs
  • The bathroom has a toilet, sink and a bath. There is a shower attachment 


Room 6:

  • This room is a double room
  • There is a small pouf 
  • There is a desk
  • This bathroom has a sink, toilet and bath with a shower attachment 



Second Floor:

This floor is located up 2 sets of stairs. There are 4 rooms, Rooms 7, 8, 9 and 10.

All these rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, a wardrobe, a tv and bed side tables.


Room 7:

  • This room is at the very top of the stairs and right
  • This is a single room with a single bed
  • There is a desk with a chair
  • The bathroom has a toilet, sink and a bath with a shower attachment 


Room 8:

  • This room is past Room 7 
  • This room is a king room
  • There is a single arm chair and a smaller foldable chair
  • The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower


Room 9:

  • This room is a single room with a double bed
  • There is a desk with a chair
  • There is also a storage unit in front of the bed
  • The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower


Room 10:

  • This room is past Rooms 7, 8 and 9 and is round the corner
  • This room is a single room with a double bed
  • There is a small table with a singular chair, without arms
  • The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower


Additional Notes:

  • There is no lift in the guest house
  • Access to the main entrance requires use of stairs
  • We have 1 room on the ground floor that is suited for those with extra accessibility requirements
  • All sets of stairs have a handrail
  • We are a dog-friendly establishment, however dogs are limited to a select number of bedrooms
  • There is a contact number available to call in the event of any emergencies/issues if member of staff not present
